"Sorry love, today has taken a bit out of me" He chuckled.

"Well, we probably should get back to camp. Want to ride on my back?"

"I think I can walk" he mewed.

"Fine," she nodded, and she stood up away from the tom so he could stand. She kept her shoulder available for him to lean on if he wished.

He managed to get himself standing then he began walking, sticking close to her side.

Fireblaze watched Twoface as they traveled to make sure he was having no problems until they reached their camp, where a low, mournful yowling was heard.

"What the..." He mewed and forced himself to limp faster, looking around camp once inside.

Fireblaze hobbled alongside the tom to enter the camp. Upon entering, her eyes widened at what she saw. Darkeye, the tom who had impregnegated her, stood in the middle of camp with a kit lying dead at his paws, another trapped but alive beneath him. The mother of the two kits was yowling her grief to the sky and begging him not to hurt her other kit.

When the two mates entered the camp, they caught his eye and he turned and hissed menacingly at them. "I've come to collect what is rightfully mine!" he growled, pointing with his claw at Fireblaze and then her belly, indicating the kits.

Although he couldnt really see, until a new deputy was appointed, Twoface was still a deputy, He growled deeply, moving to place himself between the Tom and his mate, his good ear back, "Enough Darkeye, I'll end this" He growled, "We will fight" He said.

Fireblaze instantly wound around her mate to shield him from Darkeye. "No! You can't, you're not fit enough. He'll tear you apart! Just let the clan chase him off." Around the pair, the rest of the cats slowly moved in, awaiting orders from their deputy.

His ear flicked and he sighed, "Do what you must to get rid of him, if it comes down to it, I will risk my life to make him leave" He said flatly.

Fireblaze nodded to the clan, indicating that they had the deputy's permission to chase off the exile when Darkeye stepped forward again.

"What?" he sneered, "the almighty deputy of this clan can't take me himself? How pathetic."

"I wont fall for it Darkeye, we both know I know better" He said flatly, his tail flicking for the clan to attack.

Darkeye screeched as he was forced to pelt out of the camp. Along the way, as he passed the two mates he kicked his hindpaws out purposefully so that they impacted Fireblaze's belly, and she hissed in pain and fell onto her side, skidding across the dirt.

Twoface growled deeply, staying with his mate, he moved to her and gently nudged her, then he looked to the clan, "Send a patrol, make him run to the gorge, the Damn dogs he hired are still there" He snarled.?

Fireblaze lay groaning in pain in the dirt. Though it was much too early, she mewed weakly, "Twoface, it's the kits! I think they're coming."

"How can they be? Everything with him happened yesterday" He mewed, trying to hide his panic.

"I...I don't know." She groaned and crunched, making herself as small as possible. "It hurts so badly," she whimpered, "Maybe...oh Twoface, I don't know!" Her body began to shake and she let out a sob of pain.

His ear pinned back and he limped after them as a couple warriors carried her to the medicine cat den.

She racked back and forth slightly as she was carried, and when she was laid into the nest she groaned again. "Is the medicine-cat here?" she asked, trying to hold her paw against her belly to ease the agony.

"I think so" He mewed from beside her.

She felt a terrible flash of pain course through her stomach. "Twoface, could you please hold my paw?" she whimpered, stretching it out towards him, though she couldn't see him.

He moved his paw to hers, his ear back.

Grasping his paw, she felt the medicine-cat, Stormbreeze, nuzzle her stomach, obviously trying to figure out what was going on. She felt his nose disappear from his flank, and she looked up to see what was going on.

Stormbreeze jerked his muzzle at Twoface, an order to leave the den.

Twoface hadn't seen the gesture, gently nuzzling his mate.
