Once the wolves had stopped nosing her away, Jessie collapsed into the snow, crying and curling up tightly, shaking heavily.

Night began to fall, and still the red-eyed Longfang hadn't returned from the camp. The oncoming blackness did little to conceal an incoming blizzard as the temperature began to drop. It became clear that Jessie wouldn't be able to stay there much longer.

Jessie eventually stood, she staggered and weakly walked back to the den before the storm hit, she made her way inside and sighed.

Lightning flashed outside in the strange yet dramatic combination of a snowstorm and incredibly beautiful electric storm, the thunder crashing loudly overhead.

Jessie yelped and jumped, making her way inside and hiding under all the pelts in the darkest part of the cave.

The storm continued for what felt like ages until the distinct sound of a howl pierced the air, sounding far away from the cave, but threatening all the same.

Jessie flinched at the howl and she whimpered, staying hidden, she didn't care if she was hungry or really sore, She was terrified.

After a few moments, multiple sets of pawsteps approached the den, stopping just outside as a single wolf stepped inside, sniffling loudly.

Jessie trembled and kept herself as quiet as she could, hoping she wouldn't be found, she just wanted Fang back, that was it.

All of a sudden, the pelts were nosed away, exposing Jessie to the lumbering figure of...
Fang.

Jessie squeaked and turned away before she knew it was Fang, she turned her head and when she saw him she broke into tears and hugged her arms around his neck.

Fang rapidly licked her face happily as the storm continued on outside. Four or five other wolves slowly filtered into the den, filling up most of the fairly confined space.  These were the members of the pack loyal to him, and not his brother.  He wished badly that he could explain the situation to her.

Jessie saw the other wolves and she tensed, she whimpered and trembled, looking to Fang for recognition that it was alright.

Fang looked around at the others and then nodded to Jessie, licking her face once more.  The other wolves dipped their heads to her in acknowledgement, whimpering a little as they felt miserable for what their former leader had done to her.

She gave a sigh and slowly relaxed, "They might know where we are... We might have to find a new place" She murmured to Fang quietly.

He simply walked under her arm, lying down and snuggling close to the troubled anthro wolf.

She kissed his nose and sighed, scratching his head.

He didn't even want to sleep, only wanted to comfort her and keep watch.  He was ashamed that she had had to go through that in the first place.  He hadn't been strong enough to save her.

She nuzzled him softly and sighed, eventually she stood with shaky legs and she went to where their last kill was left over, which wasn't much, "We'll need more, since there's more of us now" She murmured and started a fire, cooking what was left of the meat.

Longfang ducked his head, offering his portion to the other wolves, and to Jessie.

"I'll be fine for now, you all eat" She said and finished cooking the rest of the meat.

The other, malnourished wolves quickly ravaged what was left of the meat, hungrily gulping down the best they'd had to eat in ages.

Jessie gave a soft smile and she stayed near the fire, wrapping herself up in a pelt to keep warm.
