"Step right up, bidders of all places, of all ages, of all preferences, but all equally rich!" The auctioneer cried from the lowest branch of a pine tree. Inside the cave behind the tree, the property to be auctioned off waited in frightened resignation for what was about to happen. Among them, Scout, a loner. He'd fallen in love with a cat from the nearby clan, but was discovered and captured while meeting with his love interest one night. Now, he'd been sold to the piece of fox dung yowling outside, who seemed to be planning on selling him again.

Lark could hardly stand still. He'd sold off all of his previous cats earlier in order to make a single, high-quality purchase today. He had to win, and it had to be good.

Blu sat silently within the crowd of waiting toms to buy felines in the auction, his ears flicked and he waited for the right piece of ass to be brought out, preferably male, he'd settle for female if he had to, but he didn't have to so he was ready to take a tom back to his home, a sly grin on the tom cat's face.

Lanx trembled as she was being forcibly yanked from the cave by her scruff, her long fur was still as clean as ever, since she had been a kittypet just days before, but the she-cat dared to step out and explore for a while, only to be caught and brought to the auction.

Scout watched the female get dragged out, his ears pinned back against his head.

"Here we go! Our first piece of the day is a fine female, with some of the softest fur our handlers have felt. Don't miss out on the chance to take her home with you today!"

Lark's interest was piqued by the female. He settled down to sit one or two cats away from Blu.

"Let's start the bidding at five mice, five mice anyone and everyone?" The auctioneer began, apparently loving his job. It paid well.

Blu huffed as he watched the female being dragged out, he decided to have a little fun and run the bidding for a bit, "Six mice!" He yowled out with his sly grin, his ears flicking and waiting for another bid.

The fluffy female whimpered and stared out into the crowd of toms, she continued to tremble and shake, her fur was on end and her tail was between her legs.

"Ten!" Came another voice from the opposite side of the crowd.

Lark cleared his throat and then spoke. "Fifteen!"

Scout peered out of the cave cautiously, watching the bidding take place. He shuddered a little at the thought that there was probably no price too high for the toms outside.

Blu just continued to grin, yowling out a "Twenty!" to keep the bidding going, "You seem interested Lark" Blu said blandly and snickered lightly.

Lanx kept her ears back and she was curled up in front of the toms, she had no chance of leaving, she had already tried a few times.

"You seem interested in being an ass." Lark retorted irritably, calling out a "Twenty-three!"

"That's my job" He grinned, calling a "Twenty-five!"

More than done with the Tom next to him, Lark called out a "Twenty-nine!"

Scout almost considered making a break for it, disappearing into the crowd of toms, but looked at the muscular handlers guarding the cave and had second thoughts.

"That thing isn't even worth five mice" The tom scoffed and gave up on bidding, though he grinned that he ran up the bid.

Lanx whimpered quietly, I just want this to be over so I can go home She cried in her head.

Lark rolled his eyes but didn't respond, waiting expectantly as the auctioneer ensured that there weren't any new bets.

"Sold to the tom in the front left!" He said quickly. Lark padded over to make the payment arrangements while a handler came up to Lanx, taking her down off of the tree stump and over towards Lark.

Scout was still standing in the front of the cave, which made him the natural next choice. Growling audibly, he was escorted onto the stump. He sat down and glared at the crowd defiantly.

He grinned, liking the looks of the tom on the stump, prepared to bid.

Lanx stayed low to the ground and she whimpered, shaking as she looked up at Lark.

"This one is a stout, strong Tom with a hot streak that could be your top or your bottom!" The auctioneer yowled out, sweeping his tail across the crowd. "Now, let's see if you all can't start the bidding at 10 for this handsome tom."

Lark, irritated by his confrontation with Blu, stared the female down before sweeping his tail. A leash-like device made of a length of bramble tendril was placed around her neck, the other end attached to Lark's forepaw. "Let's go, now, I need to release after dealing with that fatass."

"Thirty!" Blu yowled within seconds of the auction starting for the Tom.

Lanx followed and whimpered, her long fur still on end.

A murmur broke out in the crowd as Blu placed his bet, every Tom looking back and forth to see if anyone would challenge the bidding tom.

Scout's ears pinned back and he hissed, cursing the bidder under his breath.

"Can I get a 31 here? 31 anywhere around?" The auctioneer waited. Silence. "Sold to the yellow-eyed bidder over here!"

Blu grinned and he went to pay for the Tom he won.

Scout was led down off the stump by a handler who placed a leash around his neck. Growling, he was basically dragged over to Blu, where he glared at his new master defiantly.

"Now, you've got some convincing to do, she-cat." Lark growled irritably, taking her to a tree not far from the auction and looping his end of the leash around a low branch, holding her in place beneath. "Crouch." He commanded.
